 Stormwater Management

Stormwater management is basically an attempt to control the excess water which runs off and is not absorbed into the ground during a rain event, to try to protect lives and property, and reduce the associated problems of erosion and sedimentary pollution.

As we have continued to prosper and expand with development in all sectors (residential, manufacturing, commercial, retail, etc.) we have greatly increased the problems associated with these development's stormwater management.  In our development, we have greatly changed the natural landscape that once stood where our homes, offices, or favorite malls now stand.  Rather than forest, grassland and farmland, we now have acres of roads, homes, driveways, stores, parking lots and other impervious surfaces that greatly increase stormwater runoff, rather than allowing absorption by the natural landscape.  It is time that we take responsibility for these changes and do what is required to solve the problems that we have created.

The integrated systems that we supply and install are designed to help be the Solution to these water problems.

Starting with rainwater harvesting -  the water from the roof is captured through the gutter system, filtered, and captured in cisterns for later non-potable or potable uses such as irrigation, industrial use, household use or for fire protection, and even drinking water with the correct filtration and purification equipment.

From the cisterns, all of which have overflow outlets, the water can move to a below-ground detention and infiltration system that collects the water in permiable chambers to slowly go back into the ground to help recharge the aquifers that we are using for our wells, municipal and commercial water needs.  These systems can be placed under parking lots, driveways, etc., therefore adding to the ecomonic advantage to this system by being below part of the problem.

We also sell a permeable driveway system that can be grassed, graveled, or covered with porous concrete or similar material to allow water penetration as opposed to running off.  Retention and sedimentation ponds are often used for this capture system, but they require additional expenses - land, fences, liability and long-term maintenance, to be effective.

The time has come for us to use all available systems to help manage the problems caused by the creation of our dreams, which can ultimately become a social nightmare.  Many municipalities are beginning to require stormwater management on new construction projects of all sizes.  Fresh, clean water is a necessity to our continued growth and is the major limiting factor for life on earth.  You can live without oil, but not without water.  Take responsibility, and do everything that you can to be a part of our Water Solution.
